"We've never had a puppy so
comfortable with himself and his
surroundings."
|
Greetings Marty,
I hope this finds you and your family
well. Eric and I wanted to check in to
update you on Vinnie.
His first night with us he wanted out of
his crate to go pee only once. On the
third night he was sleeping through and
continues to do so. The potty training
is coming right along with very few
accidents. (At this moment Eric is with
him attempting to leash train him.
Vinnie is like a mule and only moves if
a toy is introduced - very funny.) He's
very happy chewing on his toys and
responds well to correcting.
The other dogs are adjusting to having a
puppy around. We've had Akitas for 15
years and right now have 3 - Harley (F
7yrs), Max and Sam (M, F 3yrs [brother
and sister]). Max and Harley are very
comfortable with him and Sam is coming
around. Eric and I are very confident
all will be bliss.
As promised by all we've talked with,
the Cane Corso is indeed a special
breed. We've
never had a puppy so comfortable with
himself and his surroundings.
When we leave and he's very
content to go in on his own while the
others take their usual positions. When
traveling in the car Vinnie immediately
settles down in the back seat and
sleeps.
We'll continue to keep you posted on his
progress. We wish you all a prosperous
2007.
Take care,
Debbie and Eric

"He's continued to give us
so much joy and amazed us with his
intelligence."
"He and Max
continue to get along really well."
Greetings Marty,
I wanted to check in with you and let you
know Vinnie (Roman's Vincentio Del Lago) is
doing GREAT! Since his arrival on December
19th he's
continued to give us so much joy and amazed
us with his intelligence. I'm
taking him in this afternoon for his last
set of puppy shots. Eric is going to enroll
him in puppy classes this weekend.
The pictures I'm attaching were taken on Jan
16th. It's been unseasonably cold here in
California so we've had a floor heater
going. Vinnie will sit in front of it,
actually facing the heater. It's very funny.
He and Max
continue to get along really well.
He no longer sleeps in the crate at night
wanting to sleep with the "big kids". During
the day, while Eric and I are at work, he
sleeps in a crate. He's a VERY GOOD BOY!
I hope you are well. We'll continue to send
you updates on Vinnie's progress.
Take care,
Debbie and Eric Manlongat |

"Our
fantasy is Vinnie is training to become a
Corso "Healer" and is laying hands on
Sam..."
Greetings Marty,
I hope this finds you and yours well.
We're continuing to have a BLAST with
Vinnie. We've got him enrolled in Beginning
Dog Training (skipped Puppy Training) and
when we're done with this will enroll him in
a course to get him (well, really Eric and
I) ready for Good Citizenship certification.
I've attached a new shot of Vinnie and
Sammy, our 4 year old female Akita (sister
to Max). Eric and I thought this shot pretty
amusing. Our
fantasy is Vinnie is training to
become a Corso "Healer"
and is laying hands on Sam
ridding her of
all her pent up anxiety (she has a LOT of energy!). The
other shot is of all our "kids". We found it
amusing because Vinnie is doing what he
always does - LEAN on anything warm.
Again, I hope you are well. Thanks for any
input you may have.
Take care,
Deb, Eric and "The Crew" |

"We've never had a dog who, when
outside and off-lead, would rather be with
us than running all over the place." |
Greetings Marty,
I hope this finds you well.
Attached is a picture we took of the "kids"
this past weekend. All 4 dogs continue to
get along very well, although Vinnie still
finds the curly tails of the other three
irresistible which, on occasion, leads to
some crankiness.
Vinnie is, at 8 months, about 95 pounds -
solid as a rock! We've got him enrolled in a
Good Citizen Certificate program and is
expected to graduate in 2 weeks. Wish us
luck!! We've never had a dog who, when
outside and off-lead, would rather be with
us than running all over the place. He's a
bit shy around strangers but we're working
on that every weekend by taking him to malls
with lots of people and their "kids".
Take care Marty. We'll let you know how
Vinnie does at "graduation".
